    y'all are bashing the driver but y'all don't yk the full story.
    I went to check it out the place where it happened, and I saw the train coming, by the time 1 looked back the train went zooming behind me.
    I did my research there been 2 death on the same rail road (this is the 2nd) the first one was in 2021.
    The property in not public but the owner host party for business all the time. That road is build for 1-4 cars max.
    At the party there were about 100 – 500 people attending and it would take forever for you to leave.
    Let's be honest if you were able to see the rail road you wouldn't stop, there not the necessary caution signs.
    Plus there bushes and there BIG you don't see the train until it's going past right infront of you.
    Aswell as there was a car infront of them honking at them, they didn't know if it was telling them to stop or if there was to slow down. And they slowed down
    I'm blaming this on the owner of the property/ business. The road is meant for the 2 families that live there

    That crossing is in full compliance with Title 49 CFR

    No seat belts, not stopping at the STOP Sign, and inattention likely.
    Up to a half mile to get the train stopped at 55 MPH

  13. This isn't required to have a gate because it's a private road. The question is why the driver went across the tracks slowly without stopping when the view is clear both ways as far as the eye can see. Can use google maps/street view to 'stand' on the tracks and before the crossing at "jim lefler circle FL". The train had video looking forward but I haven't found it.

    Trains need like a mile to come to a complete stop. Aside from that…how long was this SUV on the tracks that the engineer had enough time to Signal them to try to get them to move out of the way and then try to slow the train down….??? Wtf was the driver thinking dude?

  24. Why does the media always say the train hit the car? The train has a 100% predictable path. The car hit the train. People think they can beat the train and most of the time they’re right. Remember… when you gamble with the train you do so with your life and the life of everyone in your car. Stop roll the windows down turn the damn radio down look listen. It takes seconds out of your day.

  28. It's a private driveway as the signs clearly say. The best solution would be to vacate the private railway crossing, and instead connect the two houses there to public street to the east. Either by extending that road a few hundred feet west, or with new private driveways to connect the homes to the current road.

  34. A railroad crossing is like any other cross traffic, except the train can't stop, so the drivers of the vehicles have to be responsible enough to stop and look both ways. This could have just as easily happened at a 4-way stop. If it's the driver who is still alive, they need to be charged with 6 counts of homicide.

  37. Because it’s a country train crossing and anyone in their damn right mind would stop as the stop signs says to and look both ways before crossing 🙄🤦🏻‍♀️
