Rolf Sybren de Kloet (52) passed away on May 29, 2023, in Tallahassee, FL with family by his side. He was born November 8, 1970, in Tallahassee, Florida, to Siwo and Dineke de Kloet.
Rolf attended Lincoln High School (class of 1988) in Tallahassee. He continued his education at Tallahassee Community College where he earned his Associates of Arts in May of 1991 and a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering from Florida State University School of Engineering in the spring of 1995.
Rolf was a small business owner — with his parents and siblings they owned and operated Animal Genetics, a biotechnology company focusing on genetic testing. Headquartered in Tallahassee with offices in Cornwall, England, Animal Genetics was Rolf’s pride, joy, and life’s work. He poured his heart and soul into the business in many facets of the day-to-day operations.
Rolf was a quiet man with a wonderful sense of humor and loved to laugh. He enjoyed traveling to Holland with family, following his kids’ successes in school and activities, watching sports and news, listening to podcasts, walking with his brothers and could remember details of movies like no other.
Rolf was a truly great man whose impact will be forever felt by his family, that loves him dearly. He was a selfless man whose passing left an unfillable gap in the hearts of his loved ones. His ability to sacrifice, provide, support, forgive, and love will be forever engrained in all he knew.
Rolf, the most loving and devoted husband and father is survived by his wife, Marnie; son, Jacob (18); daughter, Skylar (15); parents Siwo and Dineke, siblings Arne (Kat), Ed, Annette (Eric) and numerous nieces and nephews.
