You don’t need to have a kitchen mishap with dogs nabbing the freshly roasted turkey a la “A Christmas Story” to want to get out of the house for a meal on Christmas.

Several national chain restaurants plan to be open for the Christmas holidays, including Applebee’s, Denny’s, Golden Corral, Hooter’s, IHOP, Red Lobster, Ruby Tuesdays, TGIFridays and Waffle House.

The multi-cuisine restaurant that offers Indonesian, Chinese and South Indian dishes will be open Dec. 25 from 11:15 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and will reopen from 5 to 10 p.m.
