MADERA, Calif. (KFSN) — Deputies are investigating a shooting in Madera County where an 86-year-old man shot and killed his son.
Authorities say it happened in the area of D and Ellis Streets around 11am on Monday.
The Madera County Sheriff’s Office received a 9-1-1 call from an employee of a carpet cleaning company doing scheduled work.
He said he saw a father and son fighting for a firearm, the son asked the worker to call police.
When deputies arrived, they made contact with the 86-year-old man inside.
He surrendered and deputies entered the house and found the gunman’s 63-year-old son dead.
The man was taken to the hospital, but it’s unclear what charges he might face, detectives say that depends on the outcome of the investigation.
