Boom! Florida State has completed the flip of St. Thomas Aquinas four-star defensive back Conrad Hussey from Penn State. Hussey announced the news of his commitment flip on Thursday, a day after National Signing Day and on the second day of the Early Signing Period. Hussey’s signing was confirmed by FSU soon after he announced. FSU head coach Mike Norvell spoke on the newest addition to the Seminoles.

“Conrad is one of the best players in the country,” Norvell said via release. “He’s a dynamic playmaker with great versatility who can be productive at a variety of positions in our secondary. He was a top target for us throughout the recruiting process, and we are happy to keep him home.”

Hussey had been committed to Penn State since April of this year. Things started up between Hussey — who grew up a huge fan of the Seminoles — and FSU when he took an under-the-radar unofficial visit to Tallahassee in June.

After that summer trip, Hussey didn’t step foot on FSU’s campus until he officially visited with the ‘Noles on the weekend of December 9. That’s where things started to turn in his recruitment. He then took an official visit to Miami the week after.

Following days of mulling between PSU, FSU and Miami, the Seminoles won out.

FSU officially announced the news of his signing on Thursday evening:

Hussey is the No. 164 overall prospect and No. 11 safety in the nation according to the 247Sports Top247 Rankings.
