City Commission Approves Another Extension for E-Scooter Pilot Program – Tallahassee Reports

The City Commissioners accepted one other extension of the e-scootershare pilot program at their digital assembly on April 8. The extension will enable micro-mobility service to proceed with out disruptions till everlasting distributors are discovered.

The pilot program started in July 2019 with 5 distributors, and it was initially scheduled to finish in October 2019. In January 2020, the Commissioners voted to increase this system both till everlasting distributors are discovered or till April 2020, whichever comes first.

“It was anticipated that everlasting distributors could be in place by the point the pilot ended,” employees reviews.

A request for citation for everlasting distributors was issued following the January 2020 Commission assembly.

“This selection didn’t take note of time to re-issue an RFQ if that was necessitated,” employees reviews. “On this case, the preliminary bids for the everlasting e-scootershare distributors had been rejected to make sure all candidates have a chance to satisfy MWSBE (Minority, Girls & Small Enterprise Enterprise) aspirational targets.”
