BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA, FLORIDA – Cocoa Tigers Cedrick Hawkins, Caleb Dobbs, Blake Boda, D’Andrevius Dorsey, and Jordan Holmes spoke with Space Coast Daily’s Juan Rodriguez ahead of the FHSAA State Championship game on Friday in Tallahassee.

The Cocoa Tigers advanced to the FHSAA 2S State Championship game after defeating Bradford 31-21 last Friday.

The FHSAA 2S State Championship game will be played on December 9 in Tallahassee at Gene Cox Stadium.

The Tigers punch a ticket to the state championship for the second straight season and will face off against Florida State University High School in the title game.

Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.

Perennial power Cocoa is making their 8th title game appearance in program history, in search of their first championship since 2016.

The Tigers’ superb run now consists of 16 straight Final Four appearances. This year’s team features the top quarterback in the state in terms of passing yards, Blake Boda, and seven different receivers who have at least four TD receptions.

Florida High is establishing themselves as a consistent championship contender as well, with six straight Final Four appearances. The Seminoles hope to win their first-ever state title, after finishing as state runner-up in 2019. It’s already been a historic season for the Tallahasse program, as they’ve set a school record for wins and enter the championship game with a 14-0 record.
