1. The generation that kept things running are retiring and or dying.
2. Big corporations hire by diversity and not by IQ or experience.

4. Corporations have cut most safety features. A good example of this is the railroad crash that recently happend in Greece. They are greedy hogs.

This is only going to get worse. Think of South Africa, where the trains don't run because all the copper keeps getting stolen. It could be turned around with some time and effort. But, that would take a leader with some balls, AND, I don't see any walking around right now.
