TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV)- A fatal crash involving a pedestrian happened early Saturday night, in a neighborhood near the intersection of Lake Bradford Road and Orange Avenue in southwest Tallahassee.
According to Florida Highway Patrol, an FHP trooper was traveling Eastbound on Orange Avenue around 10:40 p.m. where a 29-year-old male pedestrian was lying in a prone position, also in the Eastbound lane.
Officials say the trooper collided with the man while he was lying in the roadway, and the pedestrian was pronounced dead on the scene.
Traffic in that area was shut down for investigation.
Officials are asking all drivers to avoid that area as it was an active scene. FHP was assisted by the Leon County Sheriff’s office and Leon County EMS.
The crash is still under investigation.
