DeSantis is bang on! Consciense matters. A doctor should not have to provide a minor gender transitional care, because the consequenses to young people is so potentially harmful! These kids become patients for LIFE!! So what is the REAL motivation here? Adults can do what they want, but children must be protected from making irreversible impetuous decisions and this is where adults and the Hippocratic Oath come into play. A doctor must address the issue, which in these cases is a mental illness (Gender Identity Disorder). Treat the mind first. If there is no resolution by adulthood, then do what you want, you understand that live with the consequences. But to put this responsibility on hormonally and cognatively developing children is ridiculous and irresponsible!
