Florida lawmakers advance permitless carry legislation

The problem I have with the permit process is a full background check. I was purchasing a 30-06 hunting rifle. 4 months later still waiting on the background check. A right delayed is a right denied.

How about instead of trying to strip people of their rights you gun grabbing dumbasses move to Commiefornia or Chicago or any other libtard shithole they will welcome you with open arms

I read where we have people involved in gun violence, drive-by shootings, road rage, one on one or mass shootings and I have never once heard that the shooter had a state issued cancelled carry permit? You would think that the news media would highlight this fact? These weapons were obtained illegally or the shooter was forbidden to carry in the first place, ignoring the law! The only people that were impacted by Florida’s current cancelled carry laws are the already law abiding citizens. These citizens completed the forms, fingerprinted, photographed, verified they were trained, paid the fees. If you can legally buy a weapon, you should be legal to carry that weapon without the states permission. Law enforcement distressing about their job becoming more dangerous if we have “Constitutional Carry”, their job IS DANGERIOUS! I do not see their interaction with the public changing! Florida already has 2,000,000 (2 million) cancelled carry permit holders! My guess an equal or greater number of unlicensed people carrying a weapon. They should always have in the back of their heads that the person they stop could be armed, that will not change!

Those marching apposing your literal constitutional right, do realize that all this would change is not having to pay a tax on your freedom right? Wasting your time and energy. Go do anything else.

My question is, why do we need a bill to make another new law to give us our rights back. The bill of rights makes it very clear no matter how much the anti 2A crowd wants to twist it’s meaning. “Shall not be infringed” is pretty clear. I’m not going to waste time trying to educate anti gunners because they don’t want to know because they don’t want us to have that right as well as other rights. The 2nd amendment is an enumerated right that is not given to us by the government. It is our natural right. The 2nd is supposed to guarantee that the government SHALL NOT INFRINGE upon that right. Instead of making more new laws to just muddy the waters and make it confusing and unenforceable, we should concentrate on repealing all the unconstitutional laws infringing on our right. Maybe this is a step in the right direction, but we should not stop at this. REPEAL UNCONSTITUTIONAL LAWS! Perhaps massive civil disobedience in is order.

Why is Florida, like, the weirdest state ever? Everyone I talk to from Florida only likes Florida because they're from Florida. There's no REAL reason to even live there, already 😂😭

My current state (I'm from Ft Pierce but have lived outside of Fla most of my life) has permitless open & concealed carry. The major legal criterion here is "if you can lawfully buy a gun then you can lawfully wear/carry it openly or concealed" works well enough. The tricky wording is that nonresidents passing thru cannot. Nor can temp residents.

We have this in Alaska and we have some of the lowest crime rates in the country.

I sure hope this open carry law doesn’t pass, can you imagine how many trigger happy knuckleheads would be itching to shoot someone over trivial matters? The majority of people don’t understand the definition of using deadly force or the “Stand your ground law “ that’s in Florida. The law makers better have some type of qualification course before letting just anyone Open Carry. I see a disaster coming 👎👎👎

Baby steps are good. Some are so removed from reality that open carry would make them leave state. Open carry marks you as 1st to die to bad guys.
