  4. Fact: Open carry in public is still illegal in Florida under most circumstances except engaged or traveling to or from fishing, camping, hunting, or test/target shooting. It is also legal on private property.
    Fact: The new law does not change who can buy a firearm or the waiting period to purchase a firearm.
    Fact: To carry a concealed firearm, you must meet the criteria required to get a concealed weapons permit. Be at least 21 years of age (this is a violation of the national age of an adult at 18 years of age under the 26th Amendment to vote) without a felony conviction or other disqualifying conditions outlined in Section 790.23, Florida Statutes.
    Fact: The Florida Department of Agriculture will continue to maintain the CWP program and issue new permits. Benefits reciprocity of other states and ability to avoid 3-day wait to buy firearms.
    Fact: You must carry valid identification at all times you are carrying a concealed firearm or weapon, and a law enforcement officer may ask to see your ID.

    For those who are against it, making good people helpless won't make bad people harmless.

  7. While I’m completely pro gun but permitless concealmakes no sense. I feel like this is a setup for some crazy shootings so they can then turn around and say we tried but now you can’t even have a gun. This is just weird news.

  8. News reporters should be fingerprinted and required to apply for a permit before they can do their job. Fear mongering like this story does more harm than a law abiding citizens with a gun. This story failed to explain the law and what it really means. This was just another Democrat media hit piece attacking our 2nd Ammendment right to keep & bear arms.

  10. Good. All laws against gun ownership of citizens, is illegal. The ATF should only be regulating, if the manufacturers produce safe weapons. If you want people to be safe, put weapons training back into high school, like it used to be.

  12. There are a hundred things more important than being able to carry a gun without a permit in the state of Florida. They need to be focusing on other things in the state of Florida like gas prices and the cost of rent and home insurance and property taxes

Harassing our largest tax payer, making business negative in our state, forcing business to shutter because they cannot find workers, travel advisories, which all means making Florida "go broke". People moving out of state nearly as fast as moving in, homebuying being outrageously expensive for most with horrific insurance costs, condoning White supremists and neo nazis since he refuses to condemn their actions at Disney, overturning the ruling by our Congress, and Constitution, and staying governor here, making full time pay for nearly nothing work. Now Florida becomes more of the wild west while teachers are leaving in the hundreds, while he wants to Fine them. RIGHT TO WORK state. And WHO voted for him?
