FSU women's soccer team gets limited-edition

In honor of Florida State University’s women’s soccer team winning the NCAA Tournament Women’s Soccer College Cup National Championship, it’s the return of the bobblehead.

But this time around, it’s Cimarron galloping.

Earlier this month, Florida State beat Stanford, 5-1, at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, North Carolina. With that triumph, Florida State became the first team since Stanford in 2011 to win the championship undefeated.

The national champions were recognized Friday with a commemorative item unveiled by the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum to celebrate the victory.

“As evidenced by their dominant regular season and postseason run, the NCAA Tournament champion Florida State Seminoles were clearly the class of women’s college soccer once again in 2023,” National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum co-founder and CEO Phil Sklar said in a release.

This is the first bobblehead of Cimarron, an ambassador for Florida State University and Florida State Athletics, according to the university’s website. Cimarron promotes crowd involvement and sportsmanship at athletic events and appearances.

The figure will also be the first bobblehead honoring a Women’s Soccer College National Championship, according to the news release.

However, this is not the first university-related bobblehead.

The National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum recognized FAMU in its second segment of the HBCU Bobblehead Series in August. The series featured 13 HBCU mascots including FAMU’s “Venom” and “Lady Venom.”

“Bobbleheads are the ultimate way to celebrate a team’s championship, and this bobblehead will be the ultimate way for fans of the Seminoles to commemorate the FSU women’s soccer team’s National Championship,” Sklar said.

The limited-edition bobblehead will feature Cimarron wearing a Florida State soccer jersey with its foot stepping on a soccer ball. The figure sits on a base that presents the Women’s Soccer National Championship logo.

Individualized numbers up to 2,023 are engraved on the bottom of each Cimarron bobblehead.

The 2,023 bobbleheads are now available for pre-order on the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum’s online store for $40 and an extra $8 for shipping.

The bobbleheads are expected to ship in April. For more information visit store.bobbleheadhall.com.
