The week before, prices went from $4.01 to $4.10.

Gasoline is refined from crude oil, making its market price a major factor of cost passed on to motorists. The cost of oil amounts to 55% of the cost of gas to consumers.

As the conflict in Ukraine continues to roil the market, oil prices closed Friday at $104.69 per barrel, which is $2.62 per barrel more than the week before.

It is also, however, $1.85 per barrel less than two weeks ago.
