TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – A survey aiming to lower gun violence is set to be discussed at a Tallahassee City Commission meeting Thursday.

The Council on the Status of Men and Boys conducted the poll last year to gather community insights and recommendations to curb gun violence and homicides in Leon County. The group was started as a collaboration between the Leon County Government, the City of Tallahassee and Leon County Schools with a mission of “preserving life by preventing homicides and non-fatal shootings in Leon County,” according to its website.

WCTV is speaking with the council and Tallahassee Police to better understand these results and what they mean for the capital city. We’ll also go over some of the findings in the 89-page document.
