Everyone in Florida knows that you don’t stay in a mobile home during a hurricane. That is the first thing that the authorities warn you about. I lived in Florida for 60 years and it’s a mantra they drill into you.

Hurricane Katrina comes to mind.

Why were these very elderly people left there during this storm?

well we over here on the east coast of florida have learn that mobile homes and big storm dont mix

are these people stupid a storm that big and powerful that hit as a four and you have a mobile home just what do you think is going to happen

And this is why I don't have natural gas or propane. The problem is if your neighbors cook/heat with either your house will still be burned to the ground.

My nephew and his wife family are in Northport hit by outer bands of Ian. We are in Oregon and we haven't heard much from our family there ..The McCarthys sit upon a hill and we're hunkered down and rode out the storm..we are worried about them here in Oregon as there are 8 of them 4 kids and two lil ones and they could use help and we need ta know what's goin on with them hoping there ok

Luckily Florida believes is less government, state's rights and pulling yourself up from bootstraps. I know they will turn down help from FEMA and turn down all federal assistance and dollars.

My dear friend Lou Foxwell who owned the father Fish Aquarium. Recently moved!! He is 82 years old and I'm so thankful he moved to Maryland before this happened just a couple months ago!!!
My thoughts and prayers are with everyone in this area!! And thank you for the dear heart veteran who went out of his way to check on so many!!! 🙏🙏🙏I pray hope everyone and their loved ones who this storm affected is safe 🙏🙏🙏♥️
