Horace Eddie Henderson, 86, passed away on Nov. 14, 2022, in Monticello, Fla. He was born on June 14, 1936, in Chattahoochee, Fla., the son of Amos Amzi and Mary Rebecca (McReynolds) Henderson.
Horace moved to Monticello in 2004, was a Methodist, and enjoyed line dancing, tending his fruit trees and watching Western shows on TV. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 49.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sweet wife, Shirley L. Henderson; brother, Amos Henderson; and sisters, Pauline Hutchinson and Ruby Cochran. Survivors include his sons, Dan Henderson (Virginia), of Smyrna, Ga., and Jon Henderson (Victoria), of Tallahassee, Fla.; grandchildren, Mary Beth Henderson, Arielle Shipman, Victoria Gladstone and Logan Davant; great-grandchildren, Makalaya, Ayden, Mya, Jayden and Johnny Henderson, Faylynn, Izabella and Colton Shipman, and Beau Davant; and sister, Joyce Shepard (Bobby), of Monticello, Fla.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 7, 2023, at Springfield Cemetery. Arrangements by Beggs Funeral Home, 485 E. Dogwood St. Monticello, Fla.
