“I stayed until the bitter end of the 2003 preseason finale against the Tennessee Titans, which was delayed for 2½ hours due to thunderstorms. That was a wild night. I didn’t leave Lambeau Field until like 1 a.m. CT.” You and me both! Started in the enclosed club seats – gained mad props by coming back up with standard nachos and then finished the game at the 50-yard line outside. What crazy things fans will do that do not have season tickets! No way that game resumes in the NFL today!

Exactly. I think that was the only game I attended that year at Lambeau. Once the game resumed, I appreciate how fans were allowed to just move down near the field. I remember sitting in the bleachers with my dad and a friend of mine, with nobody within 20 feet of us in any direction.

What would a player have to do to look bad during OTAs?

Oh, it happens, whether it is players looking out of place or getting yelled at by coaches. Receivers dropping passes or ball-carriers fumbling are also a big no-no. It’s the offseason, but attention to detail matters this time of year.

Wes, I have a thought on expectations leading into this coming season: It’s hopeful to have them; just don’t expect them. Could this be something Yogi might have said?

It’s like déjà vu all over again.

Tony from Edinburgh, United Kingdom

I assume that Packers’ ownership is unique to the NFL, and I’d like to believe it’s played an important part to its success over the years, plus protected the team from being re-located. Barcelona’s soccer team, which is publicly owned, has also been successful, but other professional sport teams appear to remain under private ownership? Considering the success story, do you believe it’s still unlikely/impossible ($$) for another NFL team to move to public ownership?

It’ll never happen again. The NFL is too big at this point. Green Bay will be the last NFL team owned by the community, not a billionaire.

Good morning, can we as fans contribute to help showcase our pride in the Packers and the Green Bay area to help build the best draft experience ever?

Eventually, yes. But we’re probably still a year away from that step yet.

With AR12 being traded, who will more than likely take up the reigns of team-captain photo bomber?

Rodgers pretty much stopped doing that in recent years, but Dillon would be a great candidate.

Jean from Leavenworth, IN

Wes, if you could have dinner with five retired Packers players, living or passed on, who would you choose?

Cecil Isbell, Curly Lambeau, Bart Starr, B.J. Raji, and LeRoy Butler.

Jeff from Indian Lake, NY

While Spoff’s away Hod will play. These “Dodgeball” references have been right on the money. Now we just need to get the men in green and gold to come out of the tunnel with hissing double cobras. We are the Green Bay Packers. And we will, we will, ROCK YOU!

Mike from New Orleans, LA

I wanted to let you know I’ve been doing an experiment here in II by submitting both my own questions and questions created by ChatGPT to see which are more likely to be answered. Turns out, not a single AI generated question was posted while a couple of the ones from my brain were. Very good to see you two sift through the dirt to find the gems. I promise this was written by a human. &*^%#&{error}&%#@%^

You have no idea how much joy this submission brought me, Mike.

Wow Wes, Thursday was a banner day for Hampshire, IL; a trifecta with two from Spencer. My event suggestion for draft week 2025 is to take a page out of the Pulaski Polka Days playbook and have a Lombardi Avenue parade that includes several polka bands on 53-foot semi-flatbed trailers leading the charge.

I know one proud member of our broadcast department who would love nothing more.

If it is not too early, I would like to nominate John from Livermore for Insider of the Year. His posts are intelligent, plentiful, and it would be nice to have some west coast representation in the II Hall of Fame.

John from Livermore and Jeff from Indian Lake are on my shortlist of Most Improved/Active Insiders in 2022-23. Outsider Inbox questions will be posted June 28, by the way…one month from tomorrow. Getcha popcorn ready.

Derek from Eau Claire, WI

Maybe just put a retractable roof on Lambeau and have an 75,000 person sleep over? Wes can bring the Doritos and his Nintendo 64. I’ll bring the root beer and Sega Genesis. Mom says we have to be quiet after 10 p.m.

It’s on like Donkey Kong.

Jeffery from Brooklyn, WI

Happy Weekend, What’s on the agenda?

Two more Inboxes, which means I’ll talk to y’all on Monday. Have a safe weekend.
