After three years in the capital city, World of Beer Bar & Kitchen is officially closed for good.
The Tampa Bay-based bar chain posted the news to its local Facebook page and said the franchise at 830 E. Lafayettee Street off Apalachee Parkway will be closed as of June 11.
“We are grateful for the opportunity to serve Tallahassee and our surrounding communities and feel fortunate to have served so many local organizations and groups,” the post said. “Thank you for supporting us and allowing us to serve you.
The location opened in 2020. Its opening had been delayed a few months due to impacts created by the coronavirus pandemic. Dubbed the “Original Craft Beer Restaurant,” the Tallahassee location featured 45 beers on tap, along with a wine and liquor selection. It also served American grill favorites, such as burgers, tacos, wings, salads and the company’s infamous giant pretzels.
Franchisee Jason Frimmel was not immediately available for comment.
Here’s what he previously told the Tallahassee Democrat regarding the Tallahassee location, which sparked much buzz in Tallahassee and was hailed as a milestone in the local suds scene.

“This is a small locally owned business … It’s kind of the perfect little fit for Tallahassee,” said Frimmel, a lifelong resident. “As the operator, I’m extremely excited that we’ll be able to support some local breweries.”
