TALLAHASSEE — The Tallahassee NCAA Softball Regional begins on Friday. No. 2 regional seed Mississippi State (33-24) faces No. 3 regional seed South Florida (44-14) at 6 p.m. (ESPNU). FSU (52-5), the No. 2 national seed, faces No. 4 regional seed Howard (31-22) at 8:30 p.m. (ESPN+).

– FSU 4, Howard 0 – Bottom of the 4th: Josie Muffley sacrifice fly to right center scores D’Aun Riggs from third base. Riggs came in to run for Michaela Edenfield, who walked earlier in the inning. She stole second and moved to third on Chloe Culp’s sacrifice fly that scored Jahni Kerr.
– FSU 3, Howard 0 – Bottom of the 4th: Chloe Culp sacrifice fly to right field scores Jahni Kerr from third base.
– FSU 2, Howard 0 – Bottom of the 4th: Devyn Flaherty reached when hit by pitch. She stole second and then third. She was brought in on a single to right center by Jahni Kerr.
– FSU 1, Howard 0 – Top of the 4th: Danielle Watson issues a walk, giving Howard their first base runner. That runner was erased when Michaela Edenfield picked her off at first.
– FSU 1, Howard 0 – Bottom of the 3rd: Kalei Harding reaches for FSU, but is erased as she is called out for leaving first base early on a stolen base attempt. Nothing else going for FSU.
