Annie Louise Leigh Prather, age 91, of Tallahassee, Florida passed away on Wednesday, January 10, 2024.
She was born in Jasper, Florida to Barzilla Franklin and Julia Hicks Leigh. She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, E. Charlton Prather, Sr., and her son, E. Charlton “Chuck” Prather, Jr. She is survived by her son, Skeeter Prather; daughter-in-law Margaret; and grandson Charlton McGavock Prather.
Lou received her Bachelor’s Degree as well as her RN from Florida State University. With a dedicated career spanning numerous years, she contributed significantly to the fields of nursing and community health and education.
A graveside service will be held Monday, January 15, 2024 at 9:30am at Culley’s MeadowWood Memorial Park, 700 Timberlane Road, with a memorial service inside the funeral home beginning immediately following the burial.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Red Cross or the Calvary Orthodox Presbyterian Church in Tallahassee, Florida.
