Miriam Leon, 83 years of age, of Manhattan, New York, She passed away on December 29th, 2023, in Tallahassee Fl. Miriam was born in Manhattan, New York to the late Jesus and Angelina Delgato on January 31st, 1940. She was the first born of fifteen siblings.
She is preceded in death by: Her Husband Julio Leon, parents Jesus & Angelina Delgado, brothers Ralph and Ronnie, and her sister Ruth. She has 6 surviving brothers and 4 sisters: Victor (Maureen), Charlie (Patty), Richie (Lori), Bobbie (Susan), Raymond (Tracy), Brian Delgado, Violet Sulsona (Jack), Rosalie Langford (Rusty), Rita Hofmeister (John), and Melody Lorbeer (Chuck).
She attended Brentwood High School, also achieving a bachelor’s degree in communication and political science. She married the late Julio Antonio Leon in San Juan Puerto Rico on December 16th, 1961. She worked as a Governors analyst in 1984 for many years. Some of her hobbies included poetry, gardening, singing, dancing, and acting. She was a caring person, a mother and friend always thinking of others first.
She left behind one son Steven Leon and two daughters Rosette Leon and Sharon Rouse (Freddie) and many grandchildren as well as great grandchildren. Daniel Kellond, Steven Leon Jr. (Ashley) Alexa Leon (John), Carianna Carranza (Nicholas) Radiance Hayes (Gavin), Dillon James (Yasmin), Frederick Rouse, Jamarick Jackson, Scarlett Leon, Sebastian Leon, Ski’Lynn Leon, Patrick Royster, Kingston Leon-Evans, Avery James, Valentino James, Aurora Smith, Aubriella Smith, Talia Smith, Santiago Carranza, Riobello Carranza, Emiliano Carranza, Mircediz Hardy, Ardioni Leon, Victoria Block, Savannah Blu, Arianna Rouse, Adrian Rouse, Legend Jackson.
A visitation will be held at Bevis funeral Home on Friday, January 5, 2024 from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. with a graveside service to immediately follow at Roselawn.
