Pedestrian killed in Midtown Tallahassee on Sixth

0

A Sunday early morning fatal traffic crash in Midtown near the intersection of Sixth Avenue and Monroe Street has become the latest accident in the capital city involving a vehicle and pedestrian.

“Sadly, the pedestrian, an adult male, succumbed to his injuries on scene,” the Tallahassee Police Department wrote in an online traffic advisory at 12:50 a.m.

Traffic was detoured for as long as six hours as police investigated. Both northbound and southbound traffic on Monroe Street were blocked from Fifth to Seventh avenues, and Sixth Avenue was blocked at Monroe Street.

The case remains under investigation.

This is the fourth pedestrian death in Tallahassee in about a one month span.
