Polk County School Board votes to remove proclamations

If the United States Congress or President of the United States want to give a proclamation, fine. However, just like religion, unless you want to recogonize everyone's in school, then you should not recogonize anyone's. There is a time, a place, and a level to teach other things. IE EGs: History class, social studies class, and health class. Children, in and of themselves are not devisive. It is when the local "adult" community bring their personal issues to school. That's when education, then children, become devisive.

The children do NOT look forward to it. Let’s get past the divisive “months” for everyone and get back to teaching our kids the fundamentals, PLEASE. I’m proud to live in Polk county. 👍🏻

Then we should Mother’s Day; Father’s Day, Grandparent’s Day, MAGA Day; Friendship Day; Teacher’s Day; Pulaski Day; all local & state and federal holidays; Good Friday; Palm Sunday; Eater Day; Christmas Day; Thanks Giving Day; Squirrel Day, and any other special proclamation day!!!!!🤣🤣🤣🤣

Sad day in Polk. Re-writing history. There was a reason those proclamations were made and it is significant in history lessons.

There is no reason to have proclamations from a school board. Just provide a decent balanced education and stay the heck out of politicizing this crap with special treatment of awareness to favored minorities. Dyamit, we are all the same DNA and stuck on the same wet ball floating out in a big cold vacuum. Its about time we start recognizing that we are all human, and need to stop with this division crap, and figure out how to better get along and make this a more functional home.

Good for them. We did not have all that when we were in school. Bunch of BS, kids don’t know shit about all that. Teach them useful things that they can use in their lives and future. All that other stuff in small bits not a whole month. True, it does cause division. If your not going to celebrate everyone, then do away with it.
