  1. A lot of health care companies do this on purpose. They will see if you pay the bill and then double dip to get the insurance money as well. They tried to do this to my mom and didn't realize I help her pay her bills and I have POA. She called the company and got me on the phone with them and they still insisted that we pay the bill. I told them I am going to call the insurance commissioner and let them handle the situation. They freaked out. They said, "Don't worry about it. We will take care of it."
Moral of story, do you due diligence to see what you really owe these vulture companies! Stay safe and don't let these companies take advantage of you!

  2. Dude this literally happened to me. I had blood work done in April to check up on my liver after having to take 3-4x the amount of anesthesia for a wisdom tooth removal. Didn’t get sent to the right insurance, and now I have a bill of over $1,100. Just for simple blood work. I cannot go back to Quest to get any tests done due to my outstanding balance I cannot afford to pay.

  3. This happened to me when my hospital coded my hospitalization wrong. I eventually got tired of trying to fix it and just paid it. My husband contacted the BBB and it ended up getting fixed.
