Higher prices are intrinsic to a debt based economy. You can't make housing affordable without upending the bankimg system. No tenant bill of rights or rent controls will fix thus problem

I’ve been looking for places as my lease is coming to a end and I can’t afford to live here anymore I’ve considered trailer living and I am finding run down rust buckets and they are wanting nearly 1300$ a month!!

Sadly this is happening everywhere in every state and even around the world! Rich MF all they want is money and no consideration to economy and how bad is getting. American Rich Companies are driving the nation to homelessness! 🤬🤬🤬🤬 #FCKLandOfTheFree

It is true rent has doubled in some cases. In part, it is all the NY and CA people wanting to live here now. They do not mention that there is no where to go for people because you must make 3x's a month what your rent is in order to rent anywhere. with rent averaging 1,400 for a one bedroom now where do all the hard workers go when they make 2,000 a month max? But like all things what goes up…

1400 a month? Gonna move down and save myself 800 a month.

I'm surprised since half the state died of covid. I'd think with so few people the prices would be low. Only suicidal people want to live there.

Yes this is happening in st.Petersburg as well . Not only is the rent increasing but the landlords are requesting that you make double the rent amount in each month. Plus insurance plus application fees no refunds,

Same thing's happening here in San Diego. So many expensive high rises going up in downtown, which used to be an affordable place to live. Even in low income parts of the city, rent is sky high….high rent for run down, barely liveable places.

I live in the Bay Area in California and have been here all my life, and the thing I like most about high rent prices is that it forces the losers, drug dealers, and criminals out of the area. 
We don’t have to accommodate YOU, the constitution doesn’t guarantee YOU a place to live.
No homeowner wants low income housing in their community and I’m glad to see that rat and roach infested building in a pile of rubble.
When you’re sucking on the government teat, getting EBT, and section 8 housing, you don’t get to chose to live in upscale neighborhoods. 
You need to pack your crap and move to wherever you can find cheap rent. .
America is SICK AND TIRED of losers and criminals expecting the hard working Americans to pick up the tab for what they’re too damn lazy to work for themselves.

Noone saw this coming? When you mix greed with no regulation on necessary goods this is what you get. My rent went up over 300. Desantes is for a “free”market. What a joke. Rent increase should be capped every year. Desantes doesnt give a shit. He’ll only get involved when people start leaving the state or when homeless are lined up all over the city.

With the rise in property insurance,flood insurance, repair costs,roof costs etc…
The rent has to go up.
If the states want to keep prices down for landlords too then they could pass it on but they still have to pay for upkeep.
