St. Pete Mayor Ken Welch, city officials and representatives from St. Pete Pride attended the city’s flag raising ceremony. The city’s Pride month events culminate in the St. Pete Pride Parade and Festival on June 24, one of the largest Pride events in the South.

  22. Homosexuality is a sex act and nothing more. It deserves no special rights, laws or status. It's nothing to be proud of or paraded up and down the streets in front of the kids. It's the sex act alone that defines the so-called homosexual and if you take that away what are you left with keeping in mind you can't equate sex with love?

  26. Why is gay being celebrated and not straight? There’s been gay people since the beginning of time. They’re accepted great now move on like everyone else’s that’s living day to day life. Raising a flag, next to our American flag, for such an insignificant matter is nearly treasonous in my eyes. I don't give a damn who anybody wants to partner with; I couldn't care less.
