TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – A new healthcare facility has made its way to the capital city to assist some Tallahassee organizations with providing mental health services.

Apalachee Center, Inc. and Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare (TMH) are opening a new, innovative facility “where patients of both organizations can receive outpatient psychiatry, psychological and psychotherapy services in one central location.” That’s according to a Friday press release from the organizations.

The new center, Live Oak Behavioral Health Center located at 2600 Centennial Place, will also be home to Florida State’s College of Medicine’s Psychiatry Residency Program, per the release.

A ribbon cutting ceremony was held Tuesday to debut the new mental healthcare advancement.

The center is set to offer mental health services throughout North Florida, South Georgia and Southeastern Alabama, the press release said.

Those services will include specialized services for kids and adults “managing acute and moderate mental health disorders, including those accompanied by substance use disorders,” per the release.

The center’s team will consist of psychiatrists, psychologists, psychiatric nurse practitioners, licensed therapists and clinical social workers. That’s according to the release.

“This is a watershed moment for behavioral health services in Tallahassee and the Big Bend,” President and CEO of Apalachee Center Jay Reeve said.
