TFD: Dog killed in morning house fire Thursday – WCTV

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – A house fire that occurred Thursday morning left one dog dead, according to Tallahassee Fire Department.

Around 9:40 a.m., firefighters responded a structure fire on F A Ash Way, where crews found heavy smoke and fire coming from a single-story home, TFD said.

Firefighters began attacking the fire and searching for any possible occupants inside of the home, according to the fire department, where they found heavy fire that had spread throughout the attic.

There were no people inside at the time, TFD said, but one dog did pass away.

No injuries were reported on scene, according to the fire department.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.

Leon County Sheriff’s Office, EMS, Talquin Electric Cooperative and the Chaires-Capitola Volunteer Fire and Rescue assisted TFD on scene, the fire department said.

The State Fire Marshal’s Office was also called to the scene for further investigation.
