When you discover a budget carpet cleaning product that does a job better than professionals, it’s definitely worth sharing. That’s exactly what one Aussie woman did after stumbling across a “miracle” item she picked up at Coles.

After paying for cleaning services without success, the homeowner decided to try it herself using Dr Beckmann Carpet Stain Remover. “I’ve had my carpets steam cleaned twice by two separate companies in the last six weeks in preparation for sale,” she posted in the Mums Who Clean Facebook group.

“On both occasions, they could not remove some mould on the bedroom carpet from water run-off… So I tried this product from the supermarket, and it came out immediately.”

Super impressed with the results, she said she’d “highly recommend” the $12 product, which is also available at Woolworths, for removing stubborn stains with its built-in brush system.

Her post attracted dozens of comments from fellow fans. “I used this in my car when one of my kids spilled Yogo. Then, I used it for the rest of the car. It looks like brand new carpet,” one shopper shared.

“I love this product. It’s the best. I always have one in the cupboard,” another agreed.

Others confirmed the product can easily clean couches, upholstered chairs, car seats and suede shoes. Meanwhile, fans of the range chimed in to say Dr Beckmann Pet Stain & Odour Remover was just as effective.

Consumer advocacy group CHOICE gave the product a 65% rating, and while other carpet cleaners outperformed the product, it received rave reviews from CHOICE consumers. It also received a 75% red wine removal score.
