TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – As rains began to surge through the capital city Monday afternoon, Florida Highway Patrol reported a series of crashes and traffic delays.

Just before 5 p.m., FHP reported three crashes on Interstate 10 heading west in Tallahassee. Troopers are on the way to the scenes, so information on the wrecks is limited at this time. However, FHP said no injuries have been reported so far.

The first wreck occurred near mile marker 197 and involved three vehicles, FHP said. At about the same time, dispatchers received word of a separate crash at mile marker 203, according to FHP Master Cpl. Patricia Jefferson-Shaw. No one was injured in that wreck, FHP said.

A little over a half hour later, troopers responded to a separate crash involving three vehicles near mile marker 203, according to Shaw. No one was injured in that wreck either, according to FHP.

In addition to the crashes, FHP reported two other roadblocks that they have since cleared.

In the first, a tree limb crashed onto I-10 westbound near mile marker 196, causing a mile-long traffic backup. However, traffic was moving again by 5:45 after emergency personnel responded and removed the branch.

Also within the hour, an 18-wheeler broke down at the I-10 westbound Monroe Street exit. The semi-truck was blocking the outer lane of the exit ramp, according to Shaw, but the truck has since been removed and traffic has picked back up to its normal pace.

This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
