TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – Two Tallahassee attorneys are on the other side of the law after being accused of sexually abusing a woman who worked for them in their home last year, according to court records.

Gabriel and Sarah Warren were both arrested Tuesday and face felony charges of sexual battery in connection to the incident, court records indicate. The two were released the next day on a $10,000 bond each. They have both pleaded not guilty. According to Florida statutes, sexual battery by multiple perpetrators is punishable by life in prison.

In March 2023, a woman who said she had known the Warrens for about four years, told police the couple came home from a date one night and made sexual advances, the couple’s arrest affidavit said. The woman told police the incident made her uncomfortable, the documents said.

A detective wrote in the 11-page document that the couple physically prevented the woman from leaving the home multiple times. Court records indicate the woman was eventually able to leave the house.

Directly after leaving the Warrens’ home, she sent a text message to her ex-boyfriend that read “SOS,” according to the affidavit.

Court records also allege Sarah Warren messaged the woman about a week after the incident, writing that the lawyers “still adore her and there were not any mixed feelings.”

Court records lay out a nearly year-long investigative process following the woman’s report. Last month, testing from the Florida Department of Law Enforcement revealed DNA from the Warrens matched samples taken from the woman’s clothes, according to court records.

The Warrens are being represented by different lawyers. WCTV reached out to both of their attorneys.

Alex Morris sent the following statement to WCTV on behalf of Sarah:

Gabriel Warren’s lawyer and a prosecutor with the State Attorney’s both declined to comment at this time.

As a result of the allegations, Sarah Warren was placed on administrative leave indefinitely, according to a Bryant Miller Olive law firm spokesperson. When WCTV checked this week, her profile was no longer listed on the firm’s website. It was previously posted there in late 2023, according to the Internet Archive.

WCTV also reached out to Rutledge Ecenia law firm, where Gabriel Warren was listed online as a shareholder. The firm’s spokesperson declined to comment. His profile on the site was no longer available, as of Friday.

WCTV reached out to the Florida Bar about the case. The organization said if attorneys are convicted, they automatically lose their law license. The Florida Bar also said generally it does not take disciplinary action against attorneys charged with a crime “unless and until” they are found guilty.

Gabriel’s next court date, a case management hearing, is scheduled April 1, according to the Leon County Clerk of Courts website. Sarah’s next court appearance is not available online at the time of publication.
