Florida A&M University e-mailed ABC 27 the following regarding Thursday:

Florida A&M University (FAMU) has announced the main Tallahassee campus and FAMU DRS will open at noon Thursday, April 11 due to inclement weather. The Educational Research Center for Child Development (ERCCD) will also open at noon.

The Northeast Florida Pharmacy Practice Center in Jacksonville will open at 1 p.m. As a result of the delayed opening, a mandatory management training seminar at Al Lawson Multipurpose Center will begin at 1 p.m. The delayed opening also applies to the Quincy Farm and the Viticulture Center.

For campus dining, the Top Café and The Hub will be open for brunch at 10 a.m. Retail dining locations will open at 11 a.m.

Florida State issued the following advisory regarding severe weather in the forecast Thursday:

FSU Tallahassee Campus: Due to the threat of severe weather and its possible impact on the region, Florida State University’s Tallahassee campuses will delay the start of classes and normal business operations until 11 a.m. ET Thursday, April 11. The university expects to resume classes and normal business operations at 11 a.m. Main campus housing and dining operations will continue without interruption. For further information on the University’s status, official announcements, or situational updates, continue to check http://alerts.fsu.edu.

UPDATE 5:02 P.M.

Leon County Schools just issued the following update regarding school start times for Thursday, April 11:

In consultation with the National Weather Service and Leon County Emergency Management we have made the decision to delay school start times tomorrow (4/11/2024) by 1 hour. The National Weather Service and Leon County Emergency Management are predicting that a strong line of thunderstorms will be passing through Leon County between the hours of 3-7am. Therefore, in the abundance of caution, we have made the decision to delay the start of the school day.

UPDATE APRIL 10, 2024:

Wakulla High School posted on social media that Wakulla County Schools will be closed April, 11th, 2024 due to the weather forecast. They also wrote as a reminder, schools will be closed on Friday, April 12th, 2024, for a scheduled holiday, and schools will reopen at the regular times on Monday, April 15th, 2024.
