TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (FLV) – Rep. Webster Barnaby, R-Deltona, endorsed Republican candidate Darryl Boyer to represent District 19 in the Florida House of Representatives.
“Darryl Boyer is a principled leader who will be a strong advocate for his constituents,” Barnaby said. “I encourage the communities of Flagler County and St. Johns County to support and vote for my friend, Darryl Boyer for Florida State Representative.”
Boyer has a “strong record of leadership,” a press release from his campaign said.
Most recently, he served as a legislative aide to Barnaby. He served as Tteasurer for the Republican Executive Committee, he worked on the campaign for Sen. Corey Simon, R-Tallahassee, and served as House Speaker Paul Renner’s travel aide.
“During this time, it is vital that we fight to protect our state from the woke left ideologies that are poisoning our future. America is the land of opportunity, not the land of oppression,” Boyer said in a campaign ad.
Boyer said the truth of his life “disputes the lies told by the left.”
The candidate explained the obstacles he has been “conquering” for most of his life, including his mother battling addiction while he was still in her womb.
He said the first three years of his life were spent in different foster homes and that during that time, he underwent “severe mental and physical abuse” including his own parent murdering his sister, who was only a couple months old.
Boyer was then adopted by a “loving family.”
“As an infant, I was thrown into a pit of fire. But just like you and our nation, I’ve had hardship and overcome life challenges,” Boyer said.
Boyer said he has “not allowed” his past to define who he is and that it has only “strengthened” him for a more “self-determined” future.
“I will serve to protect the life of the unborn and richer children’s quality of life and education, protect women’s sports and defend our God given rights,” Boyer said. “I will take my life experiences, common sense decision making and conservative values to Tallahassee to fight for you, your home and our future.”
