I like that little acrylic rod that Robin at oxydry has with half of it scuffed up and cloudy and the other half smooth and polished. It really shows how wear and tear leads to different light reflection.
White cotton pads like solks eventually wear,and dull.
Seems like a good life span considering the amount of use.
