Drawing inspiration from the long-lasting attributes of the Pink Hills Area, artist Joe Cowdrey set the scene in 2020 for a Morning within the Tall Pines by way of two wall murals in The UnVacant Lot, situated at 217 W Jackson St., showcasing the longleaf pine forest in all its grandeur.

This Fall, to promote the pure waters of our area, and to honor our wildlife and land, Cowdrey will create Morning on the Contemporary Spring.  This floor mural is designed to encourage us to preserve our vital assets, and to remind us that the we’re lucky to stay in a area the place the water in our springs and faucets are protected by a thick layer of clay sediment, and subsequently cleaner.

From October 3-5, Cowdrey will paint LIVE in The UnVacant Lot on West Jackson Avenue in The Backside Inventive District. The group is inspired to go to and watch as he methodically paints the bottom and brings a recent perspective to our group.

Joe Cowdrey is a self-taught painter from Tallahassee, FL. He attracts his important inspiration from his exploration of the pure panorama.  It’s his hope that individuals will discover a deeper appreciation for the fantastic thing about the forest after seeing his works.
