The Surry Arts Council will probably be presenting “The Wizard of Oz,” Directed by Madeline Matanick, this weekend.

“This manufacturing is devoted in loving reminiscence to Betty Lynn, Mount Airy’s Kansas Metropolis woman who clicked her heels and adopted her rainbow to Hollywood, Mayberry, and Mount Airy,” the humanities council stated of the manufacturing. The play will open on Friday at 7:30 p.m. on the Andy Griffith Playhouse. Extra exhibits will probably be held on Saturday at three p.m. and seven:30 p.m., and the ultimate present will probably be on Sunday at three p.m. This beloved story, during which a Kansas farm woman travels over the rainbow to find the magical energy of house, has been entertaining audiences for generations.

When a twister rips by Kansas, Dorothy and her canine Toto are whisked away of their home to the magical land of Oz. The Pit Orchestra consists of Jane Tesh and Teresa Martin on keyboard, Darrell Beck as conductor, Brady Reed on percussion, Pam Parker on flute, and Bobby Heller on clarinet/saxophone.
