Former Broward County Sheriff’s Deputy Scot Peterson is accused of failing to help the students inside Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School during the shooter’s deadly rampage in 2018. On Thursday, a jury found him not guilty of seven counts of child neglect, three counts of culpable negligence and one count of perjury.

  1. Another example of abuse of power by unethical prosecutors trying to desperately score another wrongful conviction all in the name of closure and let not forget “no one is above the law”, besides for when prosecutors themselves break or stretch the law. America must stop immunity for such bad behavior by prosecutors. There is no valid reason law enforcement should have complete immunity, which is essentially a license to lie and misbehave with no limitations.

This man got his life back, because the pain he was put through is like being dead for 4 years. This doesn’t take away from the murders of innocent kids committed by someone else.

  2. That’s why he is the sheriff. That man should be help accountable. He literally is there to protect those kids and instead he ran away and let people die. Those parents and the Sherri should sue individually.

  3. People in pain often want to make others hurt I'm glad this man was found not guilty. Ya'll gotta realize, not every one can be a Grady. He would have went straight in and told us about later like we were at church

  4. I understand there are a lot of mixed feelings about this case, but I don’t think this officer should have ever been charged from the beginning. The angry parents are not to blame, their reaction is due to immense pain and suffering, and brainwash by unethical prosecutors and the media

  5. Not Guilty doesn't mean people believe you now! You weren't sure where the shots were coming from? You were snanning for snipers? You weren't hiding, you took up a tactical position? Then you said even if you entered the building by the time you would have to clear every classroom it would of been too late to save anyone? I think If you entered the building you would of heard the shots coming from upstairs so that is another excuse. I never thought you deserved the same blame as the shooter because he was the only one that wanted people dead that day, but you should of told the truth from day one, you froze & you weren't prepared like you should of been. Nobody can speak for the families but i bet by now most of them would of forgiven you. No matter what excuses you throw out, there isn't one thats acceptable for standing in the same spot for 48 minutes.

  6. If their charging 200 to 300 dollars to change a belt on your vehicle. They are ripping you off! 50.00 for the belt 35.oo dollars labor is average cost. I worked at O'Reilly auto parts 18 years and Firestone for 5 years after that. Only takes 20 to 50 mins to change belts.

  7. All these people who are angry at this, give your head a wobble. Easy to say what you would have done when you havent actually experienced it. Wonder how 'brave' some of you would really be.

  8. I call it ridiculous, a sham, a travesty of justice. Those who were to protect took their dear sweet time to respond to an imminent threat. So i guess if no one responded that would have been ok too??? What standard….don't really need one.

  9. Im sorry these families lost their children. My heart aches for them. However THIS MAN IS NOT THE CAUSE OF THOSE DEATHS… That person is rightfully sitting in prison where he belongs.

Theres no way on Earth the blame for a Mass Shooter should go on one man who had 6 bullets & 45 ACRES to figure out where a 6 minute rampage was happening…

Wheres the trials for the ones that failed to recognize this mentally unstable child before the shooting?
Wheres the trials for the cops that stood in the parking lot & let the shooter go eat McDonald's???

Mr. Peterson may not have been able to help those 34, however he helped quite a few get to safety & hes far from a coward in my book.
    Shame on those saying differently.

  10. Should have gotten some punishment. He could of went from one building to another. They should have spread out some to each building and when they found the right one then go get him. Some of these children might have been saved.😢 I hope his conscience never let's him forget those poor children that were helpless. 😢😢😢😢

  11. This is the reason there should be tougher gun laws. Because regardless of gun carrying security. Turning a school into a prison is not going to stop a mad man carrying an ar-15 from getting inside of a school building. Officers or teachers with guns isn't going stop a mass shooter from killing multiple people.
The mass shooting that happened in Texas a whole police right along with boardor patrol agents, rangers and law enforcement from other cities and county's were there at the school while the shooting was still happening letting the killer kill more kids. The parents had broke out classroom windows just to allow for theyre children to excape.
If it wasn't for those PARENTS allowing those kids to escape through windows. There wouldve been even more kids killed. AND NOT ONE COP DID A DANM THING but let the shooter kill those kids.
If the U.S gun laws were a whole lot tougher and sertain guns were banned all together there wouldnt be all these mass shootings.

A good guy with a gun stopping a bad guy with a gun is only a myth cooked up by the JACKASS NRA.

  12. Police have the right to wait for help to confront an armed shooter who has tactical advantage. The bigger problem here is why it took 45 minutes for the backup to arrive. They better get these responses figured out, because schools are going to be ground zero in the coming civil war and the kids are the cannon fodder.
