  1. This will lead to poor retired Americans moving to 3rd world countries. You can rent a nice apartment and live a nice lifestyle in Dumaguete, Philippines for $1,500 per month. The people there speak English. Go there!

  2. Blame the Republican elected officials who deregulated private equity firms to allow them to buy up real estate causing artificial inflation.

  3. Ban AirBNB! We didn't have this problem when private weekend cabin agencies ran vacation rentals. Airbnb made it so easy and literally everybody is using thier houses as vacation rentals now.

  4. There is no reason why they should not of paid off a home. He has lived in an apartment for 23 years. That is on him why not buy a home it could of been well paid off my now. You cant get mad because someone wants to sell their property that you are just renting

  5. I would just like to America great, not again…no elderly person should be homeless. The children and the elderly used to be priority. Now it seems that "oh, well, too bad" is the American response.

  6. sell everything sir, fly here to philippines you financial will fit your lifestyle. your probably have more left in your pocket. i pray you find a place or at least a friend or family to help you and open their home.

  7. We are paying for non-Americans to have affordable housing but people who worked in this country and paid into the system are homeless. What is wrong with this picture? We need government assistance, Hud, etc. Helping other people form other countries coming in I have no problem with for short term help but we need to take care of those who paid into the system all their lives so others could have. Need to bring welfare assistance back to the local communities. So many dual incomes not married and those who really need are not getting it because the system is taxed o the limits by people who are on it and lie. Once it was to help you. Not created to support you with an extra income.

  8. Just shameful. When people think or talk about the homeless, they always talk about the drug addicts or they say people it's people who refuse to work. They never see or think about the working poor or seniors being placed out of the housing market, unable to afford skyrocketed rent

  9. If DeSantis does not pass a law preventing rent rises above an annual limit and stopping evictions for pecuniary gain in a buoyant housing market, then he is showing he is not a true representative of the people. The was things are, unless you are rich, you will be homeless at a time in your life when you need secure housing the most

  10. Capitalism doesn't give a fuck if every old person ends up homeless. It doesn't care if you worked your whole life and paid into Social Security. It seems like it worked for a long time, but at this point there are barely crumbs left to fight over.

  11. It's nothing with being computer smart it's the rich pushing them out with rents nobody can afford. This is why they need rent control because if this keeps up half the population will be homeless than all hell is going to let loose.

  12. How many homes/city blocks in Florida purchased by big banks/investors like black rock etc in last 10 years alone. Locking these homes down for rent never letting people own their own home

  13. There was a homeless 70 year old woman sleeping on the ground near where I live. I talked to her and her children stole her money and caused her to be homeless. Shame on them. I got some numbers for her to call for shelter that may can help her find somewhere to live. Poor lady asked for some water and food which I provided. I haven't seen her in 2 weeks so I am hoping she found shelter with one of the places I wrote down for her.

  14. Great job finding them somewhere to move to. The story was so depressing, but then at the end to see the reporters face and energy when she said they found a place for them, just turned a 180….Great to hear. I'll be watching next week to see the happy ending.

  15. I'm 100% sure its greed, but worse off it has a lot to do with the insurance commissioner last year allowing insurance companies to dump policys at the start of hurricane season and higher taxes as the state tries to cash in on property taxes.

New policies by the state run home owners policy does absolutely nothing but boot home owners with no where to go as private insurance companies doubling up on premiums from last year. Wasted time with the new house bill it only lined private insurance compaines and lined the people at the house. WASTE
