They better hope someone maintains the batteries. I replaced a floor tech that moved on to another job he never checked the batteries in the T3 or B3 burnisher and my first day I checked them and they were bone dry. Long story short they had to replace five batteries. They cost $500 just for one battery and that's not including the Tennant technician to come out and replace them there at $120 per hour. YIKES!!
Machine doesn’t think or have experience but one day machine will knock on your door and say it is time human you are out of a job. That will be the day I will give the machine a cup of Jack Daniels and say happy this is good for your circuits if you got a Electrical problem.
I think the bigger issue is the explosion in sales of the Bissell and Hoover home carpet scrubbers targeting pet owners. The stores are packed to the aisles with these units at sales prices. Pallets of the things in Walmart, home Depot, and Canadian Tire (sort of like Menards). Pandemic has caused a boom in pet ownership and pet messes. Once people have these units they have less frequent need of professional cleaning. We will be down to move outs and old people and certain types of commercial work. Middle class middle aged and young people will just shampoo their own carpets with these things. They'll make a mess of it, but they won't notice until years later and their carpet backing rots out. By then they may have moved. Of course we might get hit by an asteroid too and then nobody will care. I say lets live in the moment and treat each other right.
I can see gas powered trucks and truck mounts disappearing someday and going 100% electric. About the robot cleaners, doubt it but we could very well be replaced (taken over) by huge corporate companies. For now we can do what we do best… customer service… and hope the majority of clients will insist on the personal touch they're used to.
We have one at my local Walmart and who is putting water in it maintaining the squeegees and also batteries. ill guarantee you It probably sits in the back waiting for a week to get refilled with water and dump the dirty water tank. I run the Tennant T3, T300, T5 and a B5 burnisher. Overprice piece of junk hire a floor tech. Oh does it dust mop the floor before scrubbing. Hell no!!! lol
Ever surprise how some nonprofits appear to produce a lot nice content material, even with a small employees?
