  1. Something is fishy. Fla tax payers should be upset. DeSantis & now this. I was in a rehab/nursing home & went 24 hrs after brking my shoulder with no pain meds then with same nurse 8 hrs with no pain meds. Also have spinal stenosis but letting someone with broken bones go without is beyond sad. Thx I almost forgot to do anything to help save other patients. Glad this story aired. Im hoping addiction than for making $$. Nurses can travel state to state.

  2. Paramedic drug safe rooms here have 24/7 CCTV coverage and recorded. The safe is opened with two persons. Drugs removed from the safe are documented in the drug book with the new balance after being removed. The new balance is signed and counter signed by the second person. Once a drug is administered to a patient, the dosage given is signed in the drug book, containing the time, dose, patient's surname, the case number and any discarded amount and is then counter signed by a second person as witness the drug usage is correct. The OIC of that station confirms the drug safe balances weekly. At the end of shift, the drugs are signed back into the safe and are signed by both persons. The theft of drugs here, although not impossible, is highly unlikely. To me, this sounds like the drug code of practice has failed by the company, as well as the suspect, in allowing this to happen.
