  1. Scallops are filter feeders, they are filled with micro plastics, heavy metals, and pharmaceuticals gleaned from our oceans. Bivalves are one of the largest sources of micro plastics in humans diets.

  2. I HIGHLY recommend scalloping! The way she describes it is how I have always referred to it – it's JUST like an Easter Egg hunt! They swim away from you and you can find 2 of them together usually because they are mating. The only down side is you need a boat, the gear (net, mask, snorkel and fins) and you really need someone's help to clean them (it's not easy) oh and you also used to need a license but if you rent a boat that is taken care of (I think) try it! it's worth it if your kids swim well and are looking for something they can all do together as a family –You'll LOVE IT!
