COVID forced many learning programs into the virtual realm. But now, as That exercise has given the Tallahassee-based Osher Lifelong Learning Institute a worldwide footprint.
The adult learning program – better known as “OLLI” – had long used professors from the city’s three higher-learning institutions as instructors. The courses went online-only during the pandemic. And OLLI Executive Director Debra Herman says that opened up a whole new educational vista.
“Not only did we bring classes into peoples’ homes, but we now have professors from all over the world.”
Herman says those professors teach everything from the arts, to academics to practical life skills. A free preview of all OLLI courses takes place this Monday afternoon, Jan. 29 at one at FSU’s Turnbull Center.
