I have also gone to a scotch brite pad on my pad driver, it holds the micro fiber or cotton pads perfectly without damaging them, I love it. The size of the Oreck to me is not much of a disadvantage, when I clean with my truck mount, I use a 12 inch wand for better extraction, when using the Oreck with the oversized pad and bonnets, I’m covering more area than with my truck mount. If you factor in any possible time savings with a bigger machine, you might be surprised how minimal it is when it’s all said and done.
