Michigan 2023 Top100 linebacker commitment Raylen Wilson will unofficially visit Florida on Tuesday, he reported via his Twitter account. The Tallahassee (FL) native has been committed to the Wolverines since December when he pledged to Jim Harbaugh, George Helow and the rest of the staff.

Wilson’s recruitment, however, has remained at least somewhat open for most of his verbal commitment period. He has maintained contact with Georgia and Florida among other programs and appears very likely to take multiple official visits in the spring. This would include a return trip to Ann Arbor; he took his one and only visit to campus for the Wolverines’ win over Northwestern last fall.

The four-star is currently ranked 68th overall in the 2023 247Sports Composite rankings.

247Sports Scouting Report: Checking in at a listed 6-foot-2 and 213-pounds the guy is a long lean athlete. He has a muscular and ripped up frame to add mass to his build. This explosive player flashes excellent change of direction for someone his size. Good burst and acceleration are other parts of his game that stand out. Fluid and loose hips allow for him to utilize speed to close on the ball without false steps along with being a factor in the pass game, getting depth in his drops and coming to balance to make a break on the ball.

Wilson is an instinctive player that plays downhill with good read and react ability, he doesn’t just run into the play and give himself up. He keeps gap integrity to be able to make plays. Never stops his feet to get caught up in traffic where he is able to move laterally from sideline to sideline. A very good blitzer that can avoid the block of either the offensive lineman or the running back. Physically he has a natural snap and power to him that shows when he is making tackles to knock ball-carriers back. Does a nice job shedding blockers with a quick punch or his athleticism takes over to avoid line in the run game.

You constantly see flashes of how good a top flight athlete he is by his ability in the return game on both kick return and punt return. His speed kicks in and always for him to go the distance. The verified speed he has shows up in every facet of his game as his closing speed and effort allow for him to make plays all over the field. Wilson should see the field early in his career on both special teams and defense. He is a 3-down backer that doesn’t have to come off the field. As he continues to mature physically it will only serve as a positive attribute to his game. Being a multiple year starter and an all-conference performer are possible in his future.
