Ahead of the civil trial between the families of Gabby Petito and Brian Laundrie, a Florida judge will decide whether a letter Roberta Laundrie wrote to her son will be granted to Petito’s parents for use in their lawsuit against the Laundries. The judge is expected to rule on the Laundrie’s financial records being admissible and a motion by the lawsuit’s co-defendant, Laundrie attorney Steven Bertolino, to dismiss the lawsuit.

WFLA Now’s JB Biunno will have coverage beginning at 1:00 ET on our social media platforms.

  1. Failure to disclose her dead body thereby allowing her body to remain uncovered wherein animals, insects could disturb her remains. They are thoughtless and may neither defendants get dismissal grantedโ€ฆ. How can you say no intentional distress . Had they spoken up quickly with her body location, parents would not see the degree of remnants the body went through in all that time! Reckless conduct, malice intent on behalf of defendants. Shameful actful conduct!

  2. Ehhhh. Its of my personal opinion that every parent has given their child a "burn after reading" type of letter or call or at minimum a commentary at some point along their child's life.

I know I've had that sit down talk before. I know I've had that type of phone call as well. I know I've at minimum had that communicated to me a few times. Fortunately or Unfortunately (now that my parents are long gone) I've never had an actual letter written to me. IF SO, I ABSOLUTELY WOULD'VE FRAMED THAT THING AND PUT IT ON MY WALL. Why? Only those who live life on the edge or have messed up pretty good can understand the loyalty felt in such letters. And while it shouldn't need to be said, I'll still say it. The "Burn After Reading" letter doesn't have anything to do with what may be a possible victim or with specific details. It's more or less a letter of pure emotion with unparalleled loyalty being conveyed or at least portrayed in support of said child.

Truth be told, the "Burn After Reading" letter RARELY unfolds in all realities of life.

  3. Sad story. So beautiful, loving & Caring young lady. What love got to do with it. To any young girl who is reading this please run when u r in a relationship and u r not happy. There is someone else out there who will love and cherish u. Red flag run run run. Tell the truth if u get rescued. I am black color has nothing to do with it Nasistic personalities comes in all sharpes . Colors . Love u first. It hurt so bad to see such a big mistake like that. To her mom , father extended family friends. My deepest sympathy goes out to all. I been watching Gabby from the time I say it. I hated him when I caught his vibe. RIP.
    GABBY. LOVE IS UNCONDITIONALLY.

  4. Sounds like the Laundries and their lawyer were prepared for PR and not taking any responsibility or care about Gabby or her Parents, just listening to this makes my blood boil

  5. It seems to me that the Laundries also should've known that Gabby was being abused bc she was living with them and it's soooo hard to admit that you're being abused, especially when younger, to people that you were close to like your own parents since you feel foolish and you can change the abuser etc… but his Parents knew and were old enough to help her in my opinion

  6. The second attorney disects paragraph as a defense of murder for Laundries family, which is so weak.

Laundries attorney is crooked. Conflict of interest to defend your friend. Lies and no common sense to all reasons of their explanations. The family attorney's bar license should be revoke. Sure you could try to defend the Laundries but lying in court for them is going too far and is not the correct legal way to defend a client. How, dare Laundries call for dismiss, Brian is guilty 100%.

The attorney and Laundry family threw off Gabby's family in trying to make them believe they had no information on the whereabouts of Gabby. They should serve prison for aiding and abiding Brian.

  7. Wait…a 4 1/2 hour stream on ONE PIECE OF EVIDENCE? Did I accidentally walk into the crime lab while they were doing molecular testing of the paper and the ink? I think I just saw David Caruso put on his sunglasses in the parking lot. "AAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!"
