Florida is nearing a tipping level, and our neighborhoods are at risk of shedding their viability. Some Insurance coverage firms have been unable to reissue insurance policies, are ceasing operations or are pricing renewals at unaffordable charges leaving 1000’s of Floridians with the unsettling shock that they’ve misplaced protection, and should scramble to shield their most precious asset. All of those points are clearly creating an affordability disaster for our constituents.
As you’re conscious, it is a time delicate concern that deeply impacts residents from each a part of Florida. Failure to act will solely create devastating long-term results and overwhelming hurt. Deliberate and immediate legislative motion is required to shield our constituents on the Legislative degree because it relates to this urgent concern.
Due to the rising disaster and pursuant to the provisions of Article III, Part 3(c)(2) of the Florida Structure and Part 11.011(2) of the Florida Statutes, I write to request {that a} particular session of the Florida Legislature be convened for the aim of essential revisions to Florida’s property insurance coverage legal guidelines.
